I've been communicating with Los Angeles based photographer Tyler Shields a lot lately. He works mainly with celebrities and does some music video direction as well and in all of this I realised... South African directors and photographers are way more full of shit that those who work overseas in the real industry, in the real world. The passion is so much more evident when you speak to them than when you speak to these local guys. I think, like so many other things, we're doing this whole thing backwards.
